** Update - January 2018 **
The below info is 4 years out of date. FM-FMO was an online game for FM14.
I've left this here for archive purposes (and incase I decide to rekindle the idea for FM18 and beyond)....
FULL MATCH - FOOTBALL MANAGER ONLINE
What is (was) FM-FMO?
An online game for Football Manager 14 that puts the emphasis on to your current fixture and makes that fixture the focal point of your nights play. Each match carries an importance and isn't just another game to skip through asap - as seems to be the case in most other online FM games.
In more detail...
What are the FM-FMO rules?
Why FM-FMO?
Most online games are ran at too fast a speed for any meaningful tactical gameplay to occur. Hosts often whizz through as many fixtures a night as possible, forcing players to play their matches on key highlights at super-fast speed. This gives these tyes of online games an 'arcadey' feel and doesn't leave much room open for meaningful tactical play - especially during live matches.
FM-FMO offers an online simulation mode. Matches are played at normal speed and on comprehensive or full match highlights. This gives the manager time to watch his team play at a sensible speed and gives him time to change things tactically during the game as it unfolds. It also gives people a chance to log in to the gameworld and watch a "live match" if they want.
We feel the match engine is the core of Football Manager, and being able to enjoy what the match engine provides - a 3D or 2D simulation of the beautiful game - is more interesting than the events that go on in-between actual fixtures (which other online games seem to spend more emphasis on). If you enjoy watching matches more than looking at pages of stats and player info, then FM-FMO may be for you.
What do I need to join?
You will need to download the FM14 Full Club Names v1.16 database (link below).

An online game for Football Manager 14 that puts the emphasis on to your current fixture and makes that fixture the focal point of your nights play. Each match carries an importance and isn't just another game to skip through asap - as seems to be the case in most other online FM games.
In more detail...
- Its a full online simulation mode.
- Fixtures are played on a minimum of Comprehensive or Full Match highlights.
- Normal match speed is used.
- Plenty of time is given between matches for users to browse the gameworld and look for transfer targets etc.
- The emphasis of a nights play is on an individual fixture, and is definitely not to try and whizz through as many games a night trying to finish a season in a week!
- On average, one (sometimes two) fixtures are played per session. Therefore expect a full season to take several month to complete.
- This game is aimed at casual players who prefer playing the game under simulation conditions.
- Drop in drop out players are welcome - i.e. players are welcome to log in, pick a team, play a fixture against the AI or another player, and drop out afterwards. There is no obligation to stick around.
- Players are welcome to use FM-FMO to test their own tactics against real players.
- Spectators are welcome to log in and "attend" any fixture if they wish, with no obligation to even take management of a team.
- All we ask is for players using FM-FMO to be respectful to other players, and not to purposely ruin a club they happen to take control of (i.e. no deliberately releasing all its players or 'throwing' fixtures to harm the integrity of the league).
What are the FM-FMO rules?
- All competitive fixtures must be played on Full Match mode or Comprehensive Highlights. Pre-season friendlies can be played on Extended, Key Highlights, or Commentary mode.
- All matches must be played at normal speed.
- Players deliberately fixing results or ruining clubs by abnormal transfer activity, or releasing players en-mass without good reason, or any other activity that isn't within the spirit of sensible & fair play, will be banned.
- All game chat will be via a FM-FMO Discord Server .
