This got panned by the critics but I thought it was an ambitious attempt. Graphically it was a step back away from the emerging full on 3D football management games that were coming out at the time. DoF looked like something from the early 1990's with its isometric view.
However, one fantastic feature it had, that no other game has attempted, was the ability for you to watch up to 4 matches being played at the same time. It did this by giving you the option to divide your match screen into 4 sections. You could then pick and choose which games would be shown "live". This lead to some very exciting end of season situations where you could watch your own game, whilst simultaneously watch the matches of your main promotion or relegation rivals being played in real time at the same time as your fixture.
Unfortunately one big let down with this game was that the AI squad building seemed non-existent. Often an AI team that won promotion one season would finish bottom of the league the next, with 0 wins and less than 10 points because of the AI's inability to recognize the need to buy better players after promotion.
